The 4-Part Argument Series

For Those Ready to Go Deeper

Workshop overview

Conversations about identity, Israel, and community are evolving, and educators are expected to lead it all without all the tools they need.

The 4-Part Series was created by educators, for educators. It’s an immersive and cumulative experience built around our original FSA method, which treats argument not as something to avoid, but as one of our most powerful tools for learning. With a mix of practical tools, live practice, and story-based methods, this series helps educators shift from feeling unsure to feeling equipped.

Ready to bring the power of healthy argument to your organization?

I was so inspired by my first FSA experience that I came back for a second training. I taught the skills to my Hillel and wrote an article about them. I used the approach to model productive conversations with students in my Jewish education seminar. Conversations post-October 7th have been difficult, and this gave me hope for moving forward.

FAQ
What makes this different from a typical training?

We don’t just talk about argument, we practice it. Our series isn’t a lecture or a seminar, it’s an active, skill-building experience that was created by educators, for educators. Participants will leave with tools they can use immediately in classrooms, meetings, or curriculum planning.

Who is this series for?

The 4-Part Series is geared towards educators who want to guide deeper, more honest conversations, especially when topics get challenging. Whether you’re teaching in a classroom, congregation, running a camp, leading adult learning, or facilitating staff discussions, this series is designed to meet you where you are, with the problems you’re facing.

Does this only focus on Israel education?

Not exclusively. While many of the stories and scenarios touch on Israel and Jewish education, the tools and techniques apply to a wide range of educational contexts from identity, values, community, and beyond. If you’re looking for a framework that helps students engage with complex topics in a thoughtful way, this series will help.

Do I need to have experience with difficult conversations to get something out of this?

Not at all. Whether you’ve already waded into touch conversations or just starting to think about how, this series meets you at your level. We help build confidence and capacity through each session.

Can this be adapted to fit our school or organization?

Yes. While the core structure of the series stays the same – it’s been tried and tested – we tailor the stories, examples, and framing to reflect your community’s needs, age group, or curriculum goals.

Is this better for individuals or whole teams?

Both work! Teams that go through the series together are better able to apply the tools consistently across their school or organization. It builds a shared language and culture around argument that make a big impact.

How much time do we need between sessions?

We recommend spreading the sessions out over 8-12 weeks to give participants time to reflect and apply what they’ve learned between meetings. But we can also adapt the schedule to your needs.
