At the seder, we are supposed to ask questions. But what happens when the questions feel too charged to raise?
This Pesach arrives in the midst of war in the Middle East and growing divisions within Jewish communities. Many of us are entering the seder unsure of what can be said and what might be better left unsaid. And yet, as Abi recently reflected, even in moments when we are focused on defending, supporting, and caring for one another, the need to think, question, and talk together does not go away.
“The Eleventh Plague” is a teaching tool designed for exactly this moment. Through the story of a parent and child navigating whether to speak about Israel and Gaza, it opens up space to consider what it means to stay in conversation even when it’s difficult, uncertain, or uncomfortable.
As you gather at the seder table this year, we invite you to consider not just what to say, but how to say it, and how to stay connected when it’s challenging.
